Tampa is located on the western side of Florida and is a city with many interesting features. Across the bay from Tampa to the west is a peninsula with beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The Hillsborough River courses through Tampa. The Port of Tampa is an active seaport and is also a home port for passenger cruise ships. Downtown Tampa has its own skyline. Channelside is a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex in the downtown area. Also in the downtown area are the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, the Tampa Museum of Art, the Tampa Theatre, the Florida Aquarium, hotels and much more. Ybor City is a historic section originally known for cigar making and now features entertainment with many clubs, restaurants, and shops. Harbour Island near downtown has fine homes and condos. There is much more to see and enjoy in Tampa.
